A great show day again: Swedish
Winner 2006 int. ch show in Stockholm, English Setters judged
by Mrs Hilda Parkinson from England. Ines (HU Sh Ch, NordW-05
Nattaset Special Feeling) gained the Swedish Winner 2006 title. Our all five bitches did very well - we took
all placements in the best bitch class ;-) Thank you Katja x
2 and Tuula for the nice travel and show companion and congrats
for the nice wins - to you too Minna! Thanks to Pernilla, Kickie

 We had a very interesting day with Katja
today. We took part to the handler course in Lahti - our trainer
was a professional handler Mr Doug Belter from
Canada/USA. I think we learned a lot how to show the best points
of our English Setters to the judge ;-) Dear friends, don't worry,
we are not going to handle our Setters "American way"
in the future either ;-) Here is a picture taken after the course

Yesterday we visited Päivi Ylänne
and her absolutelly beautiful 7-weeks old Deringan puppies. The
puppies are out of Deringan Star Dunlin (Valsett Starlite Kittiwake
x Moon Magic Po Pengtsson) and sired by Encriptor's Child (Carbine
Istabraq of Radlake x Hollygrove Tell Tale at Silversun). Please

Sorry, I had big problems with
my home page. First the hosting company on whose server my home
page is located had some problems and they lost my home page files...
then they found the backup from July2006. On the next week my
own home computer crashed down and I had to wait 3 days to get
a new computer and to repair the old one so that I can get the
updated home page files out from there... Sorry, if the home page
is not working and looking so nice - I have to buy a new web editor
software because the old one (FrontPage97) is not working on my
new computer so well ;-) Please, be patient - I try to get the
new program as soon as possible. |

Morris (Nattaset May Blob)
took part to the international Ch Show in Tartu, Estonia today.
The English Setters were judged by Hans Rosenberg, Sweden - and
no one got an excellent. But well done anyway Morris and his owners!
I also got great news concerning Morris - he has full dentition!
Thank you for these nice news Kätlin! By the way Hoyt also seems
to got full dentition ;-) |

Today we visited the puppy show in Espoo.
Hoyt (Farthingale High Born),
Ulla (Nattaset Globe Flower) and Lupu (Nattaset Bluebell) came to my place already on Friday evening - and you
maybe can imagine how my evening and night was with four (incl.
Oona) wild English Setter puppies ;-) If
you cannot - I can tell you that it was a very funny and
crazy evening - and quite a restless night. Lucky me that I have
a fenced place for the dogs on my yard and the puppies were running
and playing outdoors for a while so that they calmed down a little
bit before I started to trim them on Friday evening. Thank you
Katja V, Katja H and Sanna for handling the puppies so well -

Ulla and her family visited us today.
I groomed Ulla for the puppy show next weekend. After that Oona

Today morning we have been on pheasant
hunting exercise with Oona. She found two cock pheasants - and
I think now she understands what to look for on the fields/in
the woods when we have the gun with us ;-) Today it was snowing

Today we (Oona and me) took part to the
handler course arranged by the Setter and Pointer club. Venla
& Katja and Lupu, Aada & Kiia were also there. It was
a nice day for all of us. Good practise for the puppy show in
three weeks! |

Lupu (Nattaset Bluebell) visited us today with her family. Lupu and Aada
enjoyed the visit by running free in my garden and searching for
the pheasant cock who always wake us up early in the morning.
After I have groomed Lupu and Aada they found a muddy ditch and
I had to give a bath to Lupu - but Aada had only dirty paws ;-)

Tytti (Nattaset Moon Sonata) and
her owner Tarja were at the Ch Show in Mäntsälä today - the judge
was Soile Bister and Tytti got "very good" in her very
first official show (the other ESs got only "good" -
so the judge was quite strict). Congratulations Tarja - well done!
Unfortunatelly Tytti
is not in whelp - but we try to mate her again on her next season.
So, we are going to see her in the show rings again later on
autumn. |

We had a lovely dog show weekend in Estonia!
On Sunday there was a Ch Show of The Estonian Setter Club in Liuranna.
30 English Setters were entered - a really nice number of beautiful
ESs! We had a lovely and successfull show day! Bisse was Best Veteran in Show and she also had the Best Progeny Group in Show!!!
Both judges John Barber and Trudy Walsh loved her a lot. Lilli
surpriced us a little
bit by beeing the best bitch - and our "come-back star"
Muusa was 2nd best bitch and got the CC; so
now she will get the Estonian Champion title! Congratulations Pirkko and thank
you so much for letting me take Muusa with me to these shows!
Our "Flower"-puppies did also very well in the baby
puppy class - this was the first show for Oona, Venla and Morris
- well done! And thank you all Setter people and dogs for the

five Nattaset "Flower" puppies. The dog therapist Kirsi
Liikanen, who made the puppy test when the puppies were 6 weeks
old, was also there. Puppies got also their second vaccinations.

We spent some lovely days in our summer
house in Savonlinna. It was lovely to swim in the lake after the
sauna - and the water was so nice warm that I also had a morning
swim. Oona was so keen on all kind of plants growing in the water
that I had to watch over her all the time - she twise falled down
to the water from the jetty - and of course she was diving; not
swimming ;-) Hard work for me to be a "bay watch" all
the time! We had nice guests too - my niece Sanna and her three
children - my "easter dog sitters" Juulia and Jassu

this time the European Winner -06 show in Helsinki, English Setters
were judged by Per Iverssen, Norway, who very clearly preferred
the American type. Ines had very fun with Katja in the ring ;-D

-prize (before this she has got only "excellents") with
a cake at home ;-} Our results today:

Quite different weekend this time...
we brought our champions Nattaset Blue Catwoman "Lilli",
Nattaset After That "Jill" and veteran Bothwell Piece
Of Heaven "Bisse" to the Setter and Pointer Special
Show of our breed club Kanakoirakerho (for "field type"
Setters and Pointers). The judge was an Irish Setter breeder from
Sweden Hans Andersson - he was a nice person and handled all dogs
very nicely. Although he didn't like our "show type"
setters so much, he was very friendly and told us that inside
the "wrong coat" and too much weight there were nice
English Setters ;-D

her a lot

black ear puppy Nattaset Bluebell (she doesn't have a permanent
nick name yet) went to Kotka and she is co-owned with Kiia Hynninen.
There is also a 2-years old Gordon Setter bitch "Ada"
in their family. Sorry, I forgot to take a family picture - but
when we see next time, I will take it. |

homes. Venla (nr 4, black eye) is co-owned with Katja in Espoo
and Ulla (nr.5) is owned by Hanna in Kotka. Here you can

Vet Hannu Pajulahti examinated and micro
chipped the puppies today and gave them the vaccinations
against parvo and kennel caugh. All puppies were heathy and in
excellent condition. We had also some other nice guests today.

Ch Show today. The English Setters were judged by Rune Fagerström
and there were 16 entries. Ines (Nattaset Special Feeling)
was 4th best bitch and she got the Swedish CC, which is alloved

Kymen Setterit ja Pointterit ry (Setter
and Pointer Club) held their open show today. I was not so pleased
with the judge change (she breeds some totally different breeds
and she isn't an official judge at all) but we decited to go anyway.
But after the show I was very dissapointed - my breeder group
and bitches got poor kritics and placements - even Ines, who won the NordW-05 title just 2,5
months ago and she is in lovely condition, didn't get anything
at all - and she was placed 3rd in her class. The only positiv
things were that Nattaset Special Spice "Spice" was the reserve best bitch - and Katja
got the BIS-couple with Ines and Lilli. Congrats Minna and Katja - and thanks
to Terhi for bringing Jill to the show too.

title confirmed by FCI. Big congratulations and hugs to Pätu's

first time Nekku's puppies today - she brought us lovely flowers
and cookies for Nekku.

Puppies' sire Moses visited us today with his owners Outi
and Antti. The puppies got nice presents as well as Nekku and
me too. I croomed Moses for the Setter and Pointer Open show held
next weekend. Good luck Moses & Outi to the show! We all keep

Jane Dennis (Mariglen English Setters,
UK) sent me some lovely photos. On the first picture there is
the Crufts 2006 Best Of Breed GB SH CH Mariglen Flaming
Colours "Flame". She is a litter sister to my
puppies' sire Mariglen Holy Moses. The second picture is from the Crufts 2005 picture callery
and the dog on the picture is Moses and Flame's sire Crufts 2005
BIS-2 GB SH CH Bournehouse Royal Colours. The third
picture is Mariglen Pengtsson's Legacy "Lego"

 Nekku's
"mum" Tuula was here and helped me yesterday and today
so that I could sleep some hours very deep and careless. (I used
to sleep in the same room with the puppies the first week so that
I can be sure that everything is ok with the dam & puppies...
and if you know the newborn English Setter puppies - they can
be quite noisy!!!). Many thanks Tuula - and Katja who helped me
and Nekku on the night when the puppies were born!
Nekku is a very loving and caring mother
- so I have a lot of time to take nice photos and update my
home page =D |

Ines has been ultra scanned - and the
result was what we were afraid of - she is not in whelp. But Katja
found a good point again: we can take part to the European Winner
show in June with Ines =) And we also planned to go to the Crufts
in 2007 - so maybe Ines can wait one more year for the "right
fiancé". We are very much waiting for the birth of Nekku's puppies.
The two young daughters of my niece promised to take two months
free from the scool so that they can come and help me in taking
care of the puppies with Nekku =)))) I was really impressed
- but I had to ask them to come and visit me for two or three
days over Eastern. Now they already plan how to come to my place
- it will be their very first trip by train. |

 HUGE
congratulations to the "Moon" litter for their 3 years birthday! After
visiting the vet and getting the great puppy news we celebrated
a little bit at Nekku's home. Tuula has made many delicious cakes
and goodies - and we also had a glass of sparkling wine! |

 We
had a very exciting day today. We visit our Vet Hannu Pajulahti
with Nekku and he ultra scanned her - and we saw 5-7 puppies!
So, the next Nattaset puppies are due from mid March 2006. Puppy
inguiries are welcome. |

We were a little bit unlucky with
the matings this time. Hjallis was still a "little boy"
and wanted only to play and have fun with Ines.
 On Friday evening we went to our "vice-fiancé"
Oliver (Nattaset That's All) and he did good job but
we didn't get a right "tie" - Oliver came with us
to Koria - and on Saturday he had a good try again. So, now
we can only keep our fingers crossed that it was enough and
that Ines's season was not too far (her progesterone level was
already on Thursday quite high).
Oliver has healthy hips (B), he is
BAER-tested both sides ok, only one premulare missing and he
has two lovely litters before. From the first Deringan litter
there are three winning dogs: Deringan Star Edison, D Star Emmigrant
and D Star Emeritus. The second litter by Nicoret's kennels
is only one year old - they don't have merits at the shows yet.
I will make an own page for Oliver with his show results and
progenies soon. |

It is so peacefull and quiet here at
home now. Annu, Spice, Nekku and Moses went home yesterday after our 1,5 hours
nice run in the woods and field. Sorry, I didn't get so many pictures,
because I had Nekku on the lead - and Moses tried to mate her
all the time.... and I didn't see Spice, Annu and Bisse so much
- and when I saw them they were running so fast that my camera
and me were much too slowly to take some good pictures. |

mating - this time with 15 minutes tie (I think we all were happy
that it didn't take so long as last time =) Tomorrow I try to
take some new photos of Nekku, Moses, Annu, Spice and Bisse when
we go to the woods in the daylight. |
